Suzuki Motorcycle India is intent on being an important player in the gearless scooter segment in India. After updating their Gixxer lineup with the rear disc brake and FI (for Gixxer SF), Suzuki has finally launched the all-new Access 125 gearless scooter at the price of Rs .53,887 ( ex-showroom Delhi) and( 59,129 on road Delhi as per Suzuki web site )
The new Access 125 has a more refined styling of the outgoing Access 125 and the changes are easily noticeable. The front, especially, has a more upmarket appeal with the chrome surrounding the headlamp assembly while the front indicators have lost their curves and are more angular. The front suspension is telescopic forks and while the old Access had drum brakes, the new Access 125 is equipped with the disc at the front for better braking performance. Also, there are alloy wheels on offer too.
The engine might appear unchanged at 125cc, however, Suzuki has implemented their SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) technology to improve the overall performance and fuel efficiency. The new 124cc. 4-cycle, 1-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC, 2-Valve engine produces 8.7PS at 7000 RPM and 10.2NM of torque at 5000 RPM. These numbers are marginally better than the earlier specs. The 20 litres of under seat storage is same as before. The firm claims a fuel efficiency of 64kmpl.
The new Access 125 will be available in following colours – Pearl Suzuki Deep Blue No.2, Candy Sonoma Red, Pearl Mirage White, Metallic Matt Fibroin Gray and Glass Sparkle Black.
