Jaguar has silently launched it’s first ever SUV – F-Pace – in India. Prices for the F-Pace start at ₹ 68.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Jaguar F-Pace will be offered with two diesel engine options initially and here are the prices of the variants. The Pure variant is priced at ₹ 68.40 lakh, Prestige – 74.50 lakh, R Sport – ₹ 1.02 crore and the First Edition – ₹ 1.12 crore. You can attribute the high pricing of the car to two things; premium positioning and it being a CBU and hence attracting a large percentage in import duties. But we expect the CKD version to come to us by 2017.
Jaguar will have an official launch in Mumbai on October 20 and we’ll be there to tell you all about it. The company is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the launch is a memorable one. Apparently, Jaguar is getting a 60-foot replica constructed of the ‘Shard’, the tallest building in London, in Mumbai especially for the launch.
As we’ve said earlier, there’ll be two diesel engines on offer. The first one being a 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine, which churns out 180bhp and 430Nm of torque. Jaguar claims that this version will do the 0-100 km/h sprint in 8.7 seconds and have a top speed of over 200 km/h.
The second one being a more powerful 3.0-litre V6 oil burner, that will belt out a meaty 300bhp and 700Nm of torque. The claimed 0-100 km/h sprint time is an impressive 6.2 seconds with a top speed of 241 km/h. Both the engines will be linked to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and AWD as well. Jaguar will also bring in a 2.0-litre petrol engine that will produce 240bhp or thereabouts but that will only be in February 2017.
