Mahindra has launched the TUV300 with more firepower. Named the mHawk100, the engine now produces, er, 100bhp. After receiving various customers complains about the lack of power, Mahindra has upgraded its current engine lineup. The new mill also produces 240Nm of torque – a 10Nm addition from the previous generation: making it the most torque-laden SUV in its class.
The more powerful engine though can be had only in the top-end T8 trim. Apart from the standard five-speed manual transmission, the automaker is also giving the option of a five-speed AMT for those who prefer not to shift cog themselves.
This new variant is just not about more power. Mahindra says that the second row seats are now better cushioned for a more comfortable ride. And an interesting feature, which should appeal to families, is the introduction of ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Pravin Shah, president & chief executive (Automotive), M&M Ltd said,“ At Mahindra it has always been our endeavour to incorporate consumer insights and feedback and hence we are happy to introduce the more powerful TUV300 with the mHawk100 engine”.
Adding further he states, “With its all new powerful engine as well as a winning combination of bold true-blue SUV design, premium & elegant interiors, superior driving pleasure and best in class safety, the TUV300 will become an even more compelling value proposition for our customers”.
Mahindra’s latest SUV is priced at Rs 8.86 lakh for the manual and Rs 9.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) for the AMT-equipped variant. So, tell us, if you’re in the market for a compact SUV.
