The Levante’s design is unmistakably Maserati, albeit a high riding one. Up front, the brand’s trademark radiator grille with the trident logo is flanked by  new, tapered headlights separated into two elements, with the upper headlight unit connected to the grille. Viewed in profile, the three, customary air vents on the flanks, the trapezoidal C-pillar with the “Saetta” logo and the large, frame less  door windows keep the Maserati forces strong. The rear is dominated by the very tapered back window, and a couple of slim tail lamps.

Though most of the official technical details of the Levante are still under wraps, along with the interiors, Maserati assures that the Levante’s “chassis is designed to combine the outstanding on-road performance typical of every Maserati with unrivalled handling even on very low-grip surfaces and an excellent off-road performance and ride.” Besides, all versions will feature electronic suspension with controlled damping and air springs, all-wheel drive and a 8-speed automatic transmission. When it comes to engines, the Levante wil be powered by  both petrol and diesel engines that are all Euro 6-compliant.

The Maserati Levante is built at the Mirafiori plant in Turin; the first cars have already come off the assembly line with the launch planned for this spring in Europe, to be followed by the rest of the world later this year.
