The compact SUV from Hyundai will be the first petrol variant to be equipped with an automatic gearbox.After much speculation, Hyundai India has finally launched their most-awarded compact SUV of the year, the Creta, with a petrol automatic version. This six-speed transmission will be available only in the SX+ trim and is priced at Rs. 12.97 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The petrol automatic compact SUV from the Korean car maker is a segment first.
On the launch of the automatic Creta petrol, Rakesh Srivastava, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Hyundai India, said, “Hyundai Motor India has witnessed a tremendous success with the Creta – The Perfect SUV. Introducing the new variant of automatic transmission in Creta showcases Hyundai’s commitment to providing products based on customers’ wants and building the relationship as a customer centric company towards ensuring customer delight. With safety as our priority we have also introduced Dual Airbags as standard across all Creta variants. The new Automatic variants and enhanced safety features will be instrumental in achieving our aim to be the most preferred car manufacturer in India.”
The automatic version of the Creta will be equipped with an audio-video navigation infotainment system with steering mounted audio control, projector headlamps with LED positioning, rear parking camera and sensors, keyless entry with push button start/stop ignition similar to the SX+ manual transmission option. The 1.6-litre motor that is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission generates 123PS power at 6,400rpm and 151Nm torque at 4,850rpm. Along with dual airbags and ABS which is now standard across the Creta’s range, in terms of safety, the SX+ trim also has Hyundai’s complete ‘Parking Assist’ that includes rear parking sensors and rear camera with steering adaptive parking guidelines display.
